Malayattoor Smruthi

To promote audio - visual creations based on malayattoor and his work.

To provide a forum for Malayalam writers, including budding young writers, promoting and fostering their artistic, literary and cultural talents.

To institute ‘Malayattoor Smruthi’ award for Drama, Dance, Cinema, Short Film, Documentary film etc. based on the literary works of Malayattoor.

To conduct annual literary festivals for High School and College students to help them familiarise with the works of Malayattoor and to organise literary camps and competitions at district level and state level.

To launch Online initiatives such as You tube channels to propagate the literary contributions of Malayattoor.

About us..

Malayattoor foundation is formed to commemorate the beloved writer Malayattoor Ramakrishnan, located at Sastrinagar in Thiruvananthapuram city, where the late litterateur spent most of his time. It aims to promote the advancement of Malayalam language and its literature, a cause dear to him.

The main objectives of the Malayattoor Foundation are: 1. To provide a forum for Malayalam writers, including budding young writers, promoting and fostering their artistic, literary and cultural talents. 2. To institute an annual ‘Malayattoor Award’ for the best literary work in Malayalam. 3. To conduct annual literary festivals for High School and College students to help them familiarise with the works of Malayattoor and to organise literary camps and competitions at district level and state level. 4. To organise literary seminars, meetings and debates. 5. To institute ‘Malayattoor Smruthi’ award for Drama, Dance, Cinema, Short Film, Documentary film etc. based on the literary works of Malayattoor. 6. To launch Online initiatives such as You tube channels to propagate the literary contributions of Malayattoor. 7. Transform Sastri Nagar into a Cultural Hub opening a Malayattoor Park and Library. All those who are interested in literature and abide by the Bye laws of the Malayattoor Foundation, are eligible to enroll themselves as members. A member in the Executive Committee of the Sastrinagar Association, of which Malayattoor was a patron for long time, will function as an Ex-officio member of the Foundation. An eleven member Governing Body has been constituted with Shri. Perumbadavam Sreedharan - noted litterateur as President, Shri. M. Noushad Ali - Media person as Vice President, Shri. P. R. Sreekumar - Documentary Director, Nature Photographer, Chief Editor of Sastrinagar Nadham as Secretary, Smt. Sobha Rajmohan - Poetess and story writer as Joint Secretary and Shri. B. L. Radhakrishnan Nair - Traveller and writer as Treasurer. Other members of the Governing Body are Shri. John Thomas - connoisseur and writer, Shri. S. Sajanachandran - Actor, writer, director of theatre, short films and tele serials, Shri. R. S. Kannan - Traveller and Documentary Producer and Shri. R.Rajesh Kumar alias Karamana Reghunath - Poet and actor. The governing body will hold office for an initial term of 3 years from 16th July 2021, the date of its formation. It is proposed to give away the first Malayattoor Award on the 30th May 2022, the 95th Birth Anniversary of Malayattoor.
